LPS Lucia Fernandez

Lucia is a regal Full Peruvian, female producer (5 out of 8), with deep roots in the Sollocota Region of Peru. As her AFDs show true (below), she has beautiful, dense & crimpy, low-micron count fleece, with a lovely, soft handle & lots of luster.

Her sire, Jolimont Gold Dust's parents---Draco & Shonda Sunrise-- were imported from the Sollocota Co-operative in Peru by the Jolimont ranch of Australia. Shonda Sunrise was then imported to Canada where she gave birth to Gold Dust Sunrise, later renamed Jolimont Gold Dust.
In the 2003 Kentucky Classic, Gold Dust won 2nd Place Mature Male, suggesting that his strong bones & dense fleece are enduring traits. He also has a gentle disposition, which proved itself in Lucia & her offspring.

Her dam, Zhanna Sunrise is a world traveler! Conceived in Peru, exported to Australia, & then to La Pampa Sunrise Alpacas in Canada. She then came to the USA. She has produced award winning cria, & has great conformation & a perfect bite.

Lucia is an experienced & devoted mother, who always has plenty of milk (enough to surrogate when needed as well, while still taking care of her own crias). One look at Lucia's last 8 cria proves her worth as a breeder, & though she may be getting older, she still has the vitality & genes to produce excellent cria.

In fact, her 2007 cria Carol, sired by our very own Snowmass Snow Legend---a Full Accoyo multi-blue ribbon champion with exceptionally dense fleece, who's sire is the great Snowmass Incaaccoyo Star & grandsire is the one-&-only Snowmaster himself--- turned out so well, that we have repeated the breeding 5 times since then with the same magnificent results!! She also produced a stunning male with a AFD of 13.7!!

Snowmass Snow Legend is one of the finest studs in the nation, with a cashmere-like fleece of 14.4 micron count in 2004. Even more exciting than that, is that Legend is a male full of attitude, presence & great conformation. Just looking at him makes you go WOW. He represents the greatness of his sire & grandsire, with an additional brightness, luster & highly expressive crimp making an unbelievable fleece on this true Champion. Snowmaster & I-Star passed all this onto Legend, plus a great disposition!

Two years ago, we decided to try a breeding to our Snowmass Casanova son - Silver Spoon Viola, just to see what she would produce when bred to gray, and she produced a gorgeous fawn son-Valor, with fantastic fleece.

We decided to rebreed her again to Snowmass Snow Legend, for a 6th time last year, which produced a gorgeous beige son - Pride. A free rebreeding is included at time of purchase to one of our outstanding studs.
