Sired by the one and only Elite Snowmass Reminiscence, who Julie Skinner wrote of him: "Snowmass Reminiscence...would be the one to cross to any color female to get color and to improve fineness, brightness, uniformity, extension of fineness, and staple length. The brightness and handle of his fiber is simply superb." Truly, this is what he has produced in Darius.
His dam, Rockford Paul Revere's Hadassah is no less, as the spectacular result of pairing the famous Ultimate Ideal Alpaca Studmaster-Peruvian Pacific Crest Accoyo Paul Revere with VIAC Genny (who has Champion lineage of her own, including the absolute Canadian Champion Acero Marka's Rockamundo, who at 18 months had a 13.6 MC & 14.5 lbs of pure fiber!!!).
Some of Darius's\ most exciting attibutes are inherited from his maternal GrandSire PC Accoyo Paul Revere. Paul Revere had a rare B-line (fine fleeced) pedigree, topknot, wonderful handle, extreme density, consistently, & luster. His sire-Accoyo Tsunami was imported into the States from Peru in 1998, and had a soft rolling skin and a bundled fleece. Both of his parents were selected by Greg Mecklem with the guidance of Don Julio Barreda. Consistent with his rare B-line (fine-fleeced) pedigree, which was inherited from his Dam-Yemaya, Paul Revere is a little smaller than other Accoyo males.
The B-line animals exhibit 20% less body weight, 20% finer fleece, and 20% less density. The hallmark of the B-line male is his C of V. Paul Revere's C of V was 18% (20.7 microns) at his first shearing and 20% (20.7 microns) at his second shearing. In addition, he has perfect confirmation and presence which is openly seen in his descendants, including Darius.
Darius has inherited the denseness from both of his parents, & so has all of the B-Line pedigree, plus the Elite and World-Class lineage that Snowmass Reminiscence has to offer, including Peruvian Snowmaster, Snowmass Edelweis, Snowmass Legacy Gold, Snowmass Belladonna, and Snowmass Andean Gold!!!
