COLOR COLOR AND MORE COLOR! Incan Essence is packed full of extraordinary color genetics, and has gorgeous Light Silver Gray fleece that has good staple length, density, & is ultra-fine & silky. All her 2011 fleece that was sent to be processed into rovings were quickly sold, and the spinners who bought it raved about her fleece.
Her sire-Multi-Champion BRIO OF RANCHO ENCANTADO is a full Peruvian, compact male with True Black fiber of the finest quality. With dense fleece, a beautiful hand, medium amplitude crimp which forms lovely bundles from shoulder to hip, and incredible brightness, Brio's fiber measured 23.4 microns at 4.5 years old with a comfort factor of 93.3, which indicates very little guard hair in his blanket--an amazing number for a 4+ year old True Black breeding male!! Brio is the progeny of two gorgeous imports: His sire - the renowned, Stachowski Full Allianza Plantel herdsire - maroon 5PERUVIAN CAMELOT (who was imported from the Macusani/Allianza area in Peru, and though he himself was never shown, won the Western Ohio Triple Crown Get of Sire & has sired numerous award winners.) & 5PERUVIAN BRIANA, a beautiful Peruvian import, who has superior conformation & dense fleece.
Her dam-SNOWMASS INCAN VIOLET (our newly attained DRG Foundation girl) is no less, bringing in the Gray. She combines lovely, long staple length with density and ultra fineness even at 10 years of age, and continues to throw colored award winners!!
Violet is sired by the premier Gray Herdsire of the North American Alpaca Stud--INCAN MAGIC, who is owned by Cas-Cad-Nac Farms (who holds him exclusively with limited outside breedings). Incan Magic inherited his fiber density and ultra fine fleece from his dam, 4Peruvian Amanda, who at the age of 15, had an AFD <17!!
Violet's dam-Snowmass Zima may be white, but she is a hidden treasure of color genetics, with her parents being Medium Rose Grey/White and True Black. True to her genes, Zima has thrown mostly Blacks, Silver Greys, & Rose Greys.
We are excited to breed Essence in Spring 2012 to one of our Snowmass herdsires, and see what her amazing genetics will bring to our Breeding Program.
